Pathology

In most cases, the amount of pathology included in our anatomy (APP) course will be sufficient. Where students need a more in-depth course for registration purposes, an 80-hour course has been designed to meet this requirement. It is normally only available to students who have completed our APP course. Bridging courses will be considered for students with other qualifications.

The framework of the course is the same six- or seven-level physiological organisation of the body into systems. Around 50 common pathologies affecting those systems will be presented, with their commonly-accepted aetiology and a selection of both conventional and complementary treatments. The aim of the course is to describe various disease processes, enable practitioners to distinguish what they can safely treat themselves and know when to refer to a medical professional. The concept of differential diagnosis will be discussed, but not with the aim of performing a formal medical diagnosis which is the job of a physician.

Please register your interest in pathology so we can keep you informed of the date of the next course. Click here to send us an email.
