Counselling Skills for Complementary Practitioners

Course Description


This intensive four-day course in counselling skills has been specially devised for complementary health practitioners.  It was inspired by a request by the CranioSacral Therapy Association in England ten years ago for a programme to give their members the skills to hold, contain and support the emerging psychological process of their clients. While the programme has naturally evolved, it is committed to the original core values.   


The training is experiential, and focuses on the fundamentals of client-centred counselling skills. You will be able to explore, discover and practise these simple yet subtle and profound skills at your own level in a supportive and non-competitive environment.

By the end of the course, you will have an understanding of the theory and practice of the person-centred approach, and will have developed the confidence and skill to support the emerging psychological narrative of your clients.


This course will be the first module of a training which will meet the counselling skills criterion of the CSTA for those wishing to become a CSTA accredited supervisor.
