Counselling Skills for Complementary Practitioners

Syllabus


The course is student-centred, and focuses on experiential learning. It aims to meet the varying needs of student groups, so may not follow the syllabus exactly. It has been designed for complementary health practitioners, and while it does NOT give students a counselling qualification, certificates of attendance will be given.

1. To understand the theoretical orientation of the person-centred counselling approach.

2. To feel confident in using  the fundamental skills when working with clients

3. To work within an ethical framework, and be mindful of the limits of one’s own competence in facilitating the client’s psychological process
